Organized by Hester Street Collaborative and Leroy Street Studio, this exhibition of images, models, and architectural design highlights an array of processes, activities, and teaching tools developed as participatory projects that facilitate engagement of children and adults in the process of improving their physical environment. Examples of this approach include Bad Design Darts, Step on Your Neighborhood Pavers, student-made signage for the Avenue of the Immigrants, and hand-crafted lanterns illuminating Chinatown residents’ impressions of their local park.
